We are much lonelier and more isolated than we used to be. Dealing with the things that are painful or even shameful alone and needing to escape from that pain makes sense. However, healing with people who understand and may sometimes share a version of your experience can feel supportive. Group therapy is a way to have confidential space where you can meet on a regular basis to look at common issues or challenges to learn new ways of being in the world or developing together new perspectives.
Engagement in groups allows us to provide effective treatment or intervention for individuals with a shared diagnosis or experience.
We offer closed groups of 8-12 people sitting together depending on the nature of the specific topic being explored. Groups are facilitated by dedicated and trained therapists who encourage the growth of the group along with mutually agreed-upon boundaries. Groups are also a cost-effective way to receive therapy. There are evening and weekend appointments. No referrals are necessary.
We also participate in groups formats throughout all aspects of our work with clients; including when engaged with individual clients and their families; and when engaged in advocacy efforts to address inequitable public policy or through efforts that promote community engagement. We also participate in a group formats to support all the collaborative efforts of our clients with other service partners to provide comprehensive supports.
