Welcome to our therapeutic practice of trauma informed and compassionate care. For over 60 years combined our passion has been to help support children, adolescents, individuals, and families as they work towards personalized goals of change. Our process begins by developing a therapeutic rapport with clients that is relaxed, supportive and tailored to each client’s unique needs. By building trust and positive rapport, we can explore the history, strengths and fears around the presenting issues. This allows us to correctly understand the root causes of the issues and move towards healing.
Building on a client’s strengths within a supportive environment is the key to enhanced mental health.
The first appointment is an opportunity to complete the intake assessment. It will take 2 hours to go over the clients’ history, areas of strength, challenges, and family dynamics. This initial intake will set the stage for possible goals and areas of support. No special preparation is required. The therapist will encourage you to describe your current problem and will ask questions throughout the sessions. Some people find it helpful to write some notes before the session to not forget important information. Follow up appointments will be 50 minutes in length. The frequency of sessions can range from weekly to bi-weekly and even monthly.
We are exclusively a fee-for-service provider and will bill you directly. You may, depending upon your insurance coverage, be reimbursed for your appointment fees. Official receipts are always issued to assist you in this process. When you are inquiring about your extended health benefits, you will need to ask if services provided by a registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and/or registered Psychotherapist (RP) are covered. If you have long term coverage, please check your plan for annual deductibles, the maximum allowable number of outpatient psychotherapy sessions and payment limit per session.
Clients are responsible for payment at the end of each session. To ensure flexibility, payments are accepted by cash, credit card and e-transfer. Please e-transfer to rennetwong@gmail.com
We require 24 hours’ notice for all appointment cancellations. If you need to cancel or change your appointment time, please call us or send us a text message 24 hours in advance. If we have not received notice from you within 24 hours, please be aware that you will be billed for your missed appointment if we are unable to book the time slot with another client. Thank you for your understanding.
The Personal Health Information Act (PHIPA) is a law created to protect patients. PHIPA is designed to ensure that all patient records, health information, payment history, etc. remain private. This Act prevents any documentation from being disclosed without the patient’s written consent. PHIPA sets a high standard of security for protecting the confidentiality of data shared between client and therapist. As mandated by the law, I maintain the utmost strict confidentiality of client information and the safe-keeping of client-records. I also preserve the integrity of client disclosure, consistent with sound ethical/clinical practices. Ensuring your trust and confidence is my number one priority.
